Ordered it because of the beautiful box, it’s a keeper.
I love to give Canadian gifts to family visitors. I was able to give them 2 different box designs which i hadn’t found elsewhere. They love smoked salmon and the boxes were so beautifully done. A true piece of Canadiana.
I had never had candied salmon and was really excited when my order arrived today. The wooden gift box with the hummingbird is stunning. Yes – I am not ashamed to admit the gift box I ordered was for me 🙂 I am not sure how to describe the taste of the candied salmon. It is sweet, but not in an overpowering way. I had a piece as-is right out of the bag, and could have eaten the entire bag, it was so good, but instead I am planning to make it part of our Canada Day lunch. The lovely box will remind me of the first time I had candied salmon for years to come. I am already planning my next order!
Haven’t broken into this awesome gift box. It’s too nice to take the plastic off. As I’ve purchase many tins of salmon – pink, sockeye, smoked AND cases of cat food – I know these will be delightful to the palette. Thank you for such a great taste reminder to when I lived in BC back in the late 1950s.
