How it's made
We get our mussels from the pristine waters off of Saltspring Island. They are then brined and smoked in our smokehouse. Once smoked they are hand packed and canned.

How to prepare
Our smoked mussels are ready to eat right out of the can and are a convenient addition to any meal: serve on crackers or cucumber slices for an easy appetizer plate; use as a topping for bruschetta or homemade pizza; or add into your favourite seafood pasta dish.

Saltspring Island is one of the Gulf Islands in the Salish Sea between Vancouver Island and mainland British Columbia. In addition to being well-known for artists and outdoor recreation, Saltspring has a vibrant local food culture—including seafood.

We’re proud to highlight Saltspring mussels, and canned seafood doesn’t get much more local than this: Saltspring is only a short ferry ride and a 35-minute drive away from our Nanaimo smokehouses where we smoke the mussels with natural hardwood smoke and hand-pack the cans to ensure care and quality.
