Smoked Oyster Dip

There’s something about smoked oyster dip that just feels familiar. It’s the kind of recipe that shows up at family gatherings, holiday trays, and casual evenings with friends — simple, savoury, and always one of the first things to disappear.

This version keeps things easy. A handful of ingredients, one bowl, and a can of St. Jean’s Smoked Oysters. The oysters bring that rich, smoky depth that makes this dip stand out without being fussy.

Whether you serve it chilled or warm it up until golden and bubbling, it’s a reliable crowd-pleaser.

Why We Love It

  • It comes together in minutes.
  • It uses pantry staples.
  • It feels a little nostalgic (in a good way).
  • It works just as well for holidays as it does for a Tuesday night snack.

Keeping a few cans of smoked oysters in the cupboard means you’re never far from something worth sharing.

About the Oysters

Our smoked oysters are carefully prepared and naturally smoked for a balanced, savoury flavour. They’re packed right here in British Columbia — from a company that’s been canning seafood on the West Coast since 1961.

It’s simple food, done properly. And that makes all the difference in a recipe like this.

Serving Ideas

Serve chilled with:

  • Crackers or crostini
  • Fresh cucumber or celery
  • Warm baguette slices

Or bake it until it starts to bubble and lightly caramelize on top for a richer, heartier version. The baked dip is especially good on cooler evenings.

If you’d like to change it up, try adding:

  • A little lemon zest for brightness
  • Fresh dill or parsley
  • A handful of shredded cheddar before baking

Make Ahead

This dip keeps well in the fridge for up to 3 days, covered. In fact, the flavour settles in nicely after a few hours.

Simple ingredients. Wild Canadian seafood. No extra fuss.
